SASTC to Host First Elementary/Middle School Track Meet

The Saint Augustine Speed Track Club is thrilled to be hosting our first annual Elementary/Middle School Track Invitational on Wednesday, May 1st. Middle School and elementary school runners will have the opportunity to compete with each other and continue to hone their running practice and skills.

Even more exciting is SASTC has commissioned the services of Miles and Minutes, LLC, an official timing system based out of Tallahassee. They use the latest Lynx photo technology and Hy-Tek meet management to provide accurate timing services for athletic events all over the southern region.

"We know it's important for competitive athletes to have accurate times recorded so we wanted to make that possible for all our athletes in the region," said Head Coach Bo Reid.

SASTC is especially grateful to St. Augustine High School for providing a venue for the event on a newly resurfaced track.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for middle school and elementary school athletes to run on a smooth track surface and get a feel for the sport," said Assistant Coach John Geter.

Track Clubs attending will be able to use the official times from this meet next Wednesday to qualify for upcoming track events across the state.

Hopefully, the rewards of track and field will continue to spread throughout the North Florida region and provide student athletes with more options for health, wellness, and fun.

Finally, a track and field club focused on the southern end of St. Johns County, dedicated to athletes striving for more.

Run. Rest. Repeat.
